The unfortunate answer is yes. The bigger problem with such shows is
the huge audience that views these sensational type programs. The
majority of individuals who view these shows generally believe
everything they see and hear, as being nothing but TRUTH. If the
accusations are made by a celebrity, they are believed even more. The
fact that the celebrity has no training, experience or real knowledge
of the crap they spew, falls deafly on the audience. They ignore
reason, they ignore logic, and are nothing more than a bunch of
sponges, soaking up the BS that is stated by these "pseudo-experts"
who have their own agenda to push to the public.
The public believes what they see. This is why programs such as "News
Magazines", 60 Minutes, Dateline and 20/20 have such a high
viewership. The public thrives on sensationalism and emotionalism,
and the validity of what they hear is less important as the fact that
somebody is being harmed (sayeth the BS monger).
It's very unfortuate, but true. What is more unfortunate is that even
if there were an expert on this show, or other shows, to counter the
BS being thrust out as truth ... the audience would tend to side with
the illogical, and consider the experts, who really do know what they
are talking about, and who have the facts and experience behind them
.. as nothing more than propagandists. A very sad state ..
