A rapid calculation using Microshield 4.10 gives a 95 rem/h EDE rate at 1 ft
for a 13 Ci source of Co60 in isotropic geometry and 130 rem/h with an
anterior/posterior geometry and an exposure at right angle from the line
source (cf ICRP51). The truth is somewhere in between.
Make sure you have not underestimated the betas from Co60 (96 keV and 626
keV average energy) and especially exposure to the skin.
