Subject: External dose factors
Radsafers:
I've come across one reference that gives a comprehensive list
of
external dose factors relating specific activity in soil to the
external
dose rate received from standing on the surface of the soil.
This
reference is NUREG/CR-5512 "Residual Radioactive Contamination
from
Decommissioning". The values given are for surface sources (in
Sv/d per
Bq/m3) and 15 cm thick sources (in Sv/d per Bq/m3) for a long
list of
radionuclides.
I understand that these factors come from Federal Guidance
Report No. 12
(US EPA) "Dose Coefficients for External Exposure to
Radionuclides
Distributed in Air, Water and Soil" by Eckerman and Ryman 1992.
I have two questions:
1.How can I get a copy of this Federal Guidance Report No. 12?
(sorry,
I'm Canadian so I don't know about these things)
2. Does anyone know of other comprehensive references with this
type of
information? I'd be particularly interested in a document from
an
internationally recognized body such as the ICRP or IAEA.
Thanks for the help.
