Bob, I am not sure what NY regulations state regarding the use of sealed sources for
medical use,  however, NRC Regulations in 10 CFR 35.49"suppliers for sealed
sources or devices for medical use, states in part, a licensee may use for medical use
only: sealed sources or devices manufactured, labeled, packaged and distributed in a
accordance with 10 CFR part 30 and 10 CFR 32.74.  10 CFR 32.74 requires a license
for distribution.  It may be helpful to check your state regulations or check with the
manufacturer as to whether it could be returned to them and they could transfer it to
another license for medical use.  Just trying to be helpful.
