RE: A lighter note

Anthony,

I've heard both words used, and I'm not sure which is more prevalent (or
more correct). I thought I could lay my hands on a ton of references
with one word or the other, but have come up short. However, the
following web sites use the term "trefoil."

http://www.uic.com.au//nip35.htm
http://tis-nt.eh.doe.gov/WPPHM/835regs/rpp_labl.htm
http://www.open.gov.uk/doh/epcu/epcu/epch8s5b.htm

And the following web sites use the term "trifoil"

http://www.sph.umich.edu/group/eih/UMSCHPS/symbols.htm
http://does.cwru.edu/radiation.html

Take your pick. "Trefoil" is in the dictionary but has as its roots
tri-folium (three-bladed). It's a cruel world sometimes.

Philip
