re:dissolvable filter



For the purposes of liq scint counting the filter does not need to be
dissolveable.  It only needs to be reasonably trasparent to  the
wavelength generated by the scintillant.  Depending on your criteria for
the perturbation of the count rate even a Whatman #1 filter can be
acceptable (i.e., <20% effect).

So if the samples being counted have other intrinsic variability, e.g.,
smears, consider saving your money.
