     I think that we need to make it clear to the vendors that it may 
     not be in their best interests to take advantage of us on the Y2K 
     issue. The ones who furnish lost-cost fixes will probably sell 
     more replacement equipment than those who want $1200-$1500 to 
     keep recently purchased equipment operational.

Why should the user community for radiation instrumentation pay the entire 
load for Y2K compliance.
