Gofman a Hero!
I got a copy of a new anti nuclear book this week, that I decided to take
a look at due to recent questions on RADSAFE regarding Dr. Gofman. It
makes him out to be quite the hero. Just one example of the types of
statements in the book:
"... he was one of the few scientists who had dared to denounce the 'cult
of the atom' and who had consistently been proven right about the effects
of radioactivity on human health."
Other statements in the book include the fact that Dr. Gofman has proven
that all radiation is dangerous and that nearly 500,000 people will die
as a result of the Chernobyl accident. He has put "the primacy of
conscience and truth above career" and he "rises above the nuclear fire
like a phoenix to become a messenger for the Children of Chernobyl."
If you want to get your blood boiling the book is,
Profiles in Power: The Antinuclear Movement and the Dawn of
the Solar Age, by Jerry Brown and Rinaldo Brutoco,
Twayne Publishers, 1997
The forward to the book is written by Ralph Nader. I suppose that
should of told me right away how the rest of the book would read.
