Position Opening for Nuclear Engineer
An opening exists for a Nuclear Engineer in Las Vegas, NV and entails work
for the Yucca Mountain Project.
The position description is as follows:
Assist in the design and development of radiation shielding and the
performance of analysis of radiation safety issues related to components
and systems. Duties include preparation of design analysis and technical
reports, providing input to design drawings, and development of
specifications for shielding and radiation safety related components and
systems. A minimum of a BS degree in Nuclear Engineering plus 3 years of
shielding design experience is required, or one year of experience combined
with a Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering. A minimum of one year of
experience must include applied analysis using the MCNP code. Experience
with the SCALE code package for source term generation a plus. All safety
related design activities are to be performed within an NQA-1 quality
assurance environment and in accordance with the repository Quality
Assurance program. Other duties shall include the preparation and
presentation of briefings describing analysis activities and safety related
concepts.
