The program and other information for Cal Rad Forum's Sixteenth Annual Spring
Conference is now on our web site at <http://www.calradforum.org>. Any changes
to the program will be posted on the web site.
The Conference will be held at the Manhattan Beach Marriott near Los Angeles
International Airport on Thursday and Friday, May 21-22, 1998.
The deadline for hotel reservations at the special conference rate has been

The conference program features presentations by experts on food irradiation
(status of technology, regulation, marketing and acceptance), the effects of
low-levels of ionizing radiation (the LNT hypothesis: review of BEIR VI,
modeling of cancer risks from household radon, and the EPA's proposed Federal
Regulatory Guidance #13), treatment of liquid and mixed low-level waste, and
the status of the proposed Ward Valley low-level radioactive waste disposal
facility ("Ward Valley: Who's Calling the Shots?").
