Regarding  the possibility of a corporate sell off of the division that made your source.   Most companies the size of Monsanto have a corporate historian/archivist who is kept on for just this sort of research and legal protection.   You might try calling the head quarters back and asking for that person.   The grain sellers may recognize this description as something they can help you with.  

If that fails your friendly neighborhood licensing agency may have a record of a license termination or transfer.  ;-)
