Re[2]: 49CFR 173.427

     An earlier 49CFR [revision Oct. 1, 1995] identified section 173.451 as 
     "Fissile materials - general requirements."  This section directed the 
     user, unless otherwise excepted by 173.453 "Fissile materials - 
     exceptions" to sections 173.457 "Transportation of fissile material, 
     controlled shipments - specific requirements" and 173.459 "Mixing of 
     fissile material packages."
     
     Although 173.451 has been apparently eliminated from current 
     regulation, the other sections previously mentioned remain in force.
     Curious!
     
     Has anyone contacted the DOT for clarification?
