According to ICRP-69, the f1 value for ingestion of compounds of
uranium is 0.02. Since only 2% of the ingested uranium will be
absorbed out of the GI tract, it seems to me that this practice is in
fact not hazardous. Does anyone have any knowledge about how much
uranium would have actually been ingested?
