Chem-Nuclear Access Fee

Waste Generator's,

There is almost a month before the Chem-Nuclear Access Fee takes effect.
Before then, the pressure put on by State of South Carolina and waste
generators alike will force Chem-Nuclear to re-work the fee system.

For generators shipping less than 75 cubic feet, $500.00 is a small price to
pay for sending waste to a secure facility with a very good track record.
Contrary to what some companies have been saying, this amount of waste is
not a candidate for any other burial site.(unless someone twists and bends
the rules)

For slightly larger generators who bury less than 200 cubic feet per
year(give or take cubic feet either way), the $27,200.00 Access Fee is
unreasonable and excessive. If you don't pay the fee this year and then try
to ship again sometime in the future, Chem-Nuclear will seek past years
Access Fees before your waste is buried. In other words don't ever plan on
using Barnwell again if you don't pay this years fee.

To make a difference you must be heard. Phone calls are not as good as
letters.

Don't call Arlene or Virgil Autry. They have nothing to do with this fee.

Letters will help more than a phone call.
