Dear Friends,
Late this afternoon at the State Capital*s Legislative Office Building (LOB) a
special event took place. State Legislators signed the*Statement of Support
and Reconciliation* as a sign of support for theMillstone workers, management,
public interest groups, government agencies and regional citizens involved in
or concerned about the restart process concluding at Millstone Station. 100%
of the Government Leaders who were asked (and available) signed in support of
the work, progress and dedication which you have shown.
Standing proud and pleased amidst the dignity of the State Capital and the LOB
and before a bank of television and radio reporters, our Government Leaders
declared their desire to *memorialize, congratulateand recognize the
unprecedented accomplishments of the 4,000 Millstoneworkers on reaching
*readiness* * as you have done. The leaders who signed the *Statement of
Support and Reconciliation* were:
* Senator Melodie Peters;
* Representative Nancy Demarinis;
* Representative Mary McGrattan;
* Representative Andrea Stillman;
* Representative Wade Hyslop;
* Representative Gary Orefice; and
* Representative Lenny Winkler.
This document like the one which 8 local Mayors and First Selectpersons signed
on May 13th at McCooks Point in East Lyme overlooking Millstone Station, is
intended: to begin the process of healing wounds, heighten mutual respect and
enhance civility in any/all differences among people
and groups within Southeastern Connecticut; to give credit to Millstone
workers and their families; to endorse a strong NRC and DPUC; and to give
recognition to the local leaders who began the process of reconciliation and
healing on May 13th.
SCWE...OSTI...ICAVP...The NRC Staff...Support by 100% of the Local and State
Leaders who were asked and available....Certainly the best is receiving the
respect and recognition for acheiving a safety conscious work environment and
(nearly) completing an unprecedented rectification process. Please know that
your efforts and sacrifices (and those of your family) are well noted, needed,
and appreciated. Nice Going & Congratulations!!
Keep well.

PS: FOSM will soon be making available to you the originals of the *Statement
of Support and Reconciliation* signed by our State Legislators on June 4th, as
well as the Statement signbed by the Local Mayors and Selectpersons signed on
May 13th.
