LaRoe scintillation detector

My colleague asked that I post to the list to see if anyone has any info
concerning a LaRoe survey instrument.  Someone brought one in & asked if
he could take a look at it.  It is large & gun-shaped.  The label on the
side says "LaRoe Scintillation Detector, Model FV-5S, LaRoe Instruments,
Inc, Bethesda, MD".

If anyone can help with info such as what type batteries, how to
intstall, recommended calib procedure, would you please respond to:
