High terrestrial background area around the world

I've heard of several places around the world with very high levels of
naturally elevated terrestrial radiation due to increased levels of
potassium, uranium, or thorium.  Unfortunately, now that I'd like to
refer to some of these, I can't seem to come up with any reasonable
references.  Please reply directly to the e-mail address below.  Once
I've received some responses, I'll compile a "handy-dandy" list that I
can post to Radsafe for all those interested.
