Time Definitions

Radsafe,
    I doubt that this question catches attention like the nuclear music, but
I would value your help!
    I am looking for the definition of time intervals.  If a leak test needs
to be completed on a six month schedule, it seems that I have seen six
months defined as so many months/days plus an interval.  I believe a similar
definition exists for an annual evaluation or assessment.  I am wanting to
include these definitions in our procedures manual, but I cannot locate the
reference.  Or was I just hoping that these definitions exist?  Thanks!
