Don't see any reason why different techniques should yied to different
results ... What do you mean by chemical analysis ? Alpha spectroscopy may
give overestimated data if you have Th contamination ? Otherwise, there are
a score of techniques for U measurements : UV/visible absorption (complex
with arzenotroline), fluorescence, gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry,
ICP, electrochemistry, neutron activation analysis. The later has the great
advantage  not to require solubization of the sample which may always
result in problems (different solubilities for different chemical forms).
