please Melissa bear with me while I prolong this "thread" one more
time!
It's not so much defensiveness as being sick and tired of hearing the
risks exaggerated. This, by the way, is also true of the risks of
chemically hazardous substances, and true (in spades!) for the common
air pollutants. My own opinion is that EPA grossly exaggerates the
last, and has the temerity to project latent fatalities from them.
Clearly only my own opinion.

I understand why so many HPs are defensive when it comes to radiation
risks. But as Health Physicist, we should consider how we look to
others not in the field. Let's all try to not be so defensive. This
is one person who's death may be related to his radiation exposure....
