Potassium Iodide

For reference with respect to Emil's comments: At the time of the accident,
TMI-2 had been operating for about 100 days. The release of iodine was
relatively small because the release pathway was very moist (most likely
saturated with steam!!), which is optimum for iodine removal. The release
fraction for iodine from PWRs would normally be very small for this reason,
much smaller than the traditional accident analysis assumptions made in
Safety Analysis Reports in the US.
