RE: Type Testing Committee for Electronic Dosimetry

At the recent HPS meeting in MN, Mary Thomas (NRC), 
Jerre Forbes (Chair, N13) and myself met to discuss
just this topic. It was decided some of us would give
Lou Costrell (Chair, N42) a call to discuss the need
to have N42 develop a type testing standard that set
criteria on those aspects under the control of the
manufacturer and for N13 to subsequently develop a
complementary performance testing standard to ensure
proper performance under field conditions. Hopefully
this dialog will soon result in the creation of the
working groups.

Standards such as these will certainly help in future
deliberations by the two regulatory agencies (NRC and
DOE) on the eventual use of this new and exciting
technology for official dose of record.
