Where the unit name is a person's name, the abbreviation (better, symbol) starts
with as an upper case letter: roentgen (R), gray (Gy), pascal (Pa), etc.  Otherwise
use lower case letters: second (s), electron volt, (eV), etc.  Where the name is the
symbol, use lower case letters e.g.: rem (rem), rad (rad).
