"Chernobyl" type commercial RBMK-1000 has 1000(electrical) megawatt
Seeing from 440 megawatt it is indeed WWR-440 and was build most
probably
in fomer Chehoslovakia. This republic got a license to build WWR-440
when
Frm. SU started building WWR-1000. Both WWR-440 and WWR-1000 using
light water as a moderator and have negative termal-reactivity
cofficient(relation) opposite to RBMK type. So it is a pretty safe
reactor-western equivalent of PWR type reactors.
