According to ICRP 41, Nonstochastic Effects of Ionizing Radiation, Table 6,
the estimated threshold for "detectable opacities" of the lens is 0.5-2.0
Sv for a single brief exposure; 5 Sv for highly fractionated exposures.

Also for "visual impairment (cataracts) the single, brief threshold is 5.0
Sv and the highly fractionated exposure threshold is reported as >8 Sv.
