HP-type Openings



The following three positions are open within Guidant Corporation.  PLEASE,
do not respond to RADSAFE or to me, but to Nonnie McCLain who is listed
below.

GUIDANT Positions:

Location: Houston
1. Radiation Physicist I
Education: Minimum A.S, B.S Preferred in Health Physics or Analogous
Radiation field.
Experience:  4 years direct experience in major Radiation program.
Other: Computer Skills
Responsibility will include:
*	Provided support to Senior RP in radiation safety operations.
*	Conduct daily review of production facility and R&D operations.
*	Assist personnel with radiation safety training and technique
advice.
*	Operate measurement and monitoring devices.
*	Conduct radiation surveys.
*	Maintain, update and provide needed records.
*	Collect needed information and participate in radiation safety
review and approval of R&D and production projects and procedures.
*	Implement specific projects.

Location: Santa Clara
2. Health Physicist
Discription: Principle Radiation safety offices for Santa Clara site.
Regulatory interface Federal or State radiation safety. Surveillance
monitoring, Training, Supervising and Coordinating radio isotope, waste
disposal records, facility specifications, procedures and practices.
Education: M.S Radiological health physics, or Environmental health physics.
B.S Biology physical science, radiological health physics or environmental
health physics.
Experience:  Min 5 years, Post graduate applied radiological health physics
experience in Bio medical research, nuclear general research, or direct
related industry experience handling all operational aspects of radio active
and Hazardous waste programs.
Special Requirement: Computer literacy, Word database, Spreadsheet,
Supervisory experience, Program Manager.

3. Nuclear Chemist:
Education: Ph.D. or MS in nuclear chemistry, radiochemistry or equivalent
experience.
Experience: 3-5 yrs working with radioisotopes and supervising personnel in
a HOT LAB.  1-2 yrs leading projects.
Description/ Responsibilities: Responsible for leading one or more source
Radiotherapy developments teams.  Lead team to analyze and deduce practice
radioisotope incorporation into a medical device.  Develop and maintain
project schedules.  Provide technical analysis and interpretation of
radiochemical data.
