RE: Real time monitoring
NaI detectors were (to be?) placed in community locations (primarily
schools) through-out the area. These were connected to a
computer/printer for real-time logging. A modem was attached so that
the data could be down-loaded to the SSC. These were stored in lockable
weather houses on rolling tables so they could easily be stored in a
corner without someone playing around without proper supervision.

Subject: Real time monitoring
I believe they had a monitor installed in Waxahatchie, TX during
construction of what was once called the SSC (super-collider).
I'm not
sure where they had it, but I think it was in a public place.
It was
placed to re-assure the locals.
