Radiation Safety Officer  - Job #SG14205 University of Kentucky

The University of Kentucky is seeking highly qualified applicants to fill the 
position of Radiation Safety Officer.  The University of Kentucky is a 
comprehensive land grant university with medical, academic, research and service
facilities.  Minimum qualifications for the position include a Bachelor's degree
and eight years university-related health physics experience.  Graduate work in 
health physics or related area, appropriate board certification or eligibility, 
and substantial related experience are preferred.  The Radiation Safety Officer 
reports to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety and is responsible 
for all aspects of the institution's radiation safety program including, but not
limited to: maintaining licensure and regulatory compliance, developing and 
administering radiation safety policies and procedures, and providing education 
and training for users and staff.  The position supervises two health 
physicists, three radiation safety technicians, two clerical staff, and a number
of student workers.
