Posting for Radiological Engineer
PECO Energy is seeking a Radiological Engineer/ALARA specialist to work
at it's Limerick Generating Station.
Job Description: This position reports to the Manager, Radiological
Engineering and is responsible to: maintain the ALARA Program,
procedures and guidelines; work closely with the applied Health Physics
group to recommend appropriate HP controls for work which includes
incorporating engineering controls, shielding and new approaches to
reduce exposure; participates in the Emergency Plan; and interfaces with
work groups to develop collaborative methods to reduce exposure.
Required Skills:
1. BS in Engineering, Radiation Protection, or related science.
2. Minimum of 8 years radiation protection experience; three of which
must be nuclear power plant experience.
3. Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
4. Ability to obtain unescorted access into Nuclear Facilities.
5. Familiar with the principles of operation and Health Physics concerns
of a Boiling Water Reactor.
6. Computer literacy including experience with PC Packages.
7. Demonstrated planning and organizing skills.
Preferred Skills:
1. Certification by the American Board of Health Physics (CHP).
2. MS in Health Physics or Radiation Protection
Starting Salary - $54,558 (neg. based on experience)
