RE: High School Health Physics

Check out this site from the University of Michigan's
K-12 Educational Section. The power point presentation
includes a little lab section that used a lantern mantle,
some fiesta ware and some sort of radium dial. I've used
it with high school classes and it's pretty fun.

Does anyone have instructions for simple source & geiger counter
experiments? The HPS is distributing old Civil Defense GM's to high school
science teachers. They can detect a latern mantle quite well. We'd like
to include a sheet on experiments, resources, etc.
