Envirocare Reaches Settlement

Envirocare Reaches Settlement - (TOOELE COUNTY) -- The
federal government says it will NOT fine Envirocare for storing
excessive amounts of uranium at a facility in Utah. The radioactive
waste-management company will instead pay 100-thousand dollars
to the state Division of Radiation Control. The company is only
licensed to handle a certain concentration of uranium... but
inspectors found materials at the plant five times the amount
allowed. Investigators from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
determined that the waste was NOT
dangerous.
