     Steve,
     
     ICRU Report Number 49, "Stopping Powers and Ranges for Protons and 
     Alpha Particles," has tables of ranges and stopping powers.  I am 
     pretty sure that there is a table for water vapor.  The report does 
     have introductory material describing the methods used to make the 
     tables.
