Re: Fwd: [RadInfoReq #367] Beksar treatment on news last night
See the special supplement to the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Vol 39, #8,
pp 1S - 33S, August 1998, with articles by (variously): Wahl, Richard L,
Moskowitz, Craig H, Colcher, David, Kroll, Stewart, Zasadny, Kenneth R,
Kaminski, Mark, et alia. Basically, what's happening is that investigators
at the U Mich Med Center, and Coulter Pharmaceutical, Inc., have a
radioimmunotherapeutic agent for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, in the form of an
iodine-131 labelled, anti-B1 antibody, that is in Phase III trials. My
understanding is that it is also ready for commercial production. The
University of Michigan's medical website is at:
http://www.umich.edu/UM-Health.html. You could also try calling directory
information for Ann Arbor, and asking for the physician referral number at
the Med Center, or the Nuclear Medicine Division, or the cancer center, or
maybe the hospital operator has a number reserved for people seeking to
enter clinical trials.
P.S. Judging by the authorial listings on the articles, Richard Wahl, MD, is
the principal nuclear physician. P.P.S. I don't know what "Bekzar" might be.
Good luck.
