NRRPT Membership Meeting
The NRRPT Board of Directors invites all Registered Radiation Protection
Technologists (RRPTs) to participate in the first NRRPT Membership
Meeting to be held in conjunction with the International ALARA
Symposium (IAS) from January 30 through February 4, 1999 in Orlando,
FL. The operational nature of this meeting serves the practical needs of
our membership body. Therefore, in keeping with the Registry objective
to promote the education and training of Radiation Protection
Technologists, the Board committed to solicit technical presenters from
our membership and to encourage our membership to attend.
The symposium will feature technical papers and exhibits on the latest
approaches in work management, dose control, and dose measurement.
Benchmarking world class performance in ALARA with special
emphasis on radiological operations and dose management is a key topic
for the 1999 symposium. Innovative applications of electronic dosimetry,
bioassay and use of containment devices will also be featured at the
symposium. Finally, global dose trends and benchmarks will be
presented for major nuclear power plant initiatives including steam
generator replacement, refueling outages and chemistry treatment
programs.
Additionally, the general membership is invited to attend and participate in
the NRRPT Board and Panel meetings held on January 29th and 30th prior
to the IAS technical meeting. Please let us know in advance of your
intention to attend the Board and Panel meetings by sending an email to
DeeDee Woolhiser at NRRPTExam@aol.com or by calling 509.736.5400.
