RE: Food Irradiation
Just ask the people to produce the data. The show, "60 Minutes" asked the
same of a group I believe from the Jersey area with a name something like
"~Food and Water" a couple of years back. The people from the show said
that the groups data was non-existent or bogus, all of the people the group
referenced rebuffed them, and basically said that the group was a fraudulent
group selling fear.
Sincerely,
Glen Vickers

Subject: Food Irradiation
A recent issue of Modern Maturity has a somewhat positive article
about food
irradiation. However, as a counterpoint they quote Ronnie Cummins,
director
of the Pure Food Campaign, as saying that, "there are numerous
instances where
feeding animals irradiated food produced heart problems, cancer,
reproductive
damage, and chromosome abnormalities."
Does anyone have any information on these "numerous instances"? I
am not
aware of any studies that showed those affects from gamma irradiated
food, but
thought this was a good place to check before writing a rebuttal
letter to the
editor.
