Re: Occupational exposure to radon?

Just one question. What is a "normal" radon level? Since you are trying to
determine "higher than normal" levels, I thought you might be able to give me
some idea of what is a "normal" level of radon.

In past training and in some of the reading materials to which I've been
exposed, natural radon levels in different geographical areas have resulted in
average receipt varying from a few millirem to in excess of a rem annually.
Therefore, "normal" is determined by locality.

What I'd like to see are results of some tests for annual exposures due to
radon for:
1. individuals consuming well water (with radon entrained) nearly every day.
2. individuals living in homes heated by natural gas using unventilated space
heaters and natural gas from wells on the property where they dwell (i.e.,
very little decay time). I'm wondering if this could be linked to
bladder/lung/other cancers.

Thanks,
