X-rays or Strip Search? -Reply -Reply -Reply -Reply -Reply

Does anyone have any statistics on the number of people Customs strip
searches vs the positive results? I'd be curious to know how accurate
their suspicions are.

Michael,

I am not sure of the answer, myself, but don't the ethics of
radiation protection apply equally to criminals and "honest"
citizens ?

Just how do we know, in advance, who is a
drug-smuggler (who therefore introduces drug-related
risks to the community), and who is innocent but
suspicious ?

The ethics of radiation protection (I understand) require a
net benefit to the individual, or to the community. I am not
sure that this can easily be demonstrated here, although I
suspect the dose is not of great concern.
