Re: Identifying contamination....



This seems to be a piece of an x-ray flouresence analyser.  The activity is
low to be the whole thing but Cobalt-57 is the radionuclide of interest, the
Co-58 and Zn-65 could be impurites.

These devices are used by chemistry labs (box type) and health departments
(hand held).  The health departments or contractors use them for evaluating
surfaces for lead paint.

Any other ideas?
