Re: Modernization Program for Bulgarian Nuclear Plant

Greetings,

If I remember that right, Kozloduy has RBMK-1000 (-1500) reactors.
I do not know what upgrade is going to, I was just wondering what kind of
expertise Parsons Energy & Chemicals Group Inc. has with these reactors. It
is sound to me that this contract is a possible step to have a some sort of
oversight on RBMK reactors, which is not a bad idea.
I participated in an upgrade of automatic controlling system on one of RBMK
reactors; it had been pretty much routine procedure in that time. Now, I
would imagine, it would not be so easy because of disorganization in supply
and contractors network for these reactors. The problem is that this type
of reactors probably won't be build anymore, so it is hard to keep upgrade
program running, especially after FSU collapse.

Only my thoughts.

Emil.
