Re[2]: DeGaussing an MRI suite
So, 'Static Magnetic" is the residual magnetism is ferromagnetic materials
exposed to magnetic fields, such as those generated from an MRI machine. I may
have known that at one time, but had forgotten. I have some hammers and and
screwdrivers that were magnetised. They 'grab' and tend to 'hold on to' some
screws and nails. Thanks.

Jim,
I occupied an office that had previously housed a powerfull magnet. The
metal studs contained enough residual magnetism to affect a serious effect
on my computer monitor. I never did get the fields measured though. Moving
the monitor around caused effects that would have been pretty fun in the
days prior to urinalysis!
