RE:Russian and Ukrainian Radiation Protection Standards

The current radiation protection standards in Russia are issued by the Russian
Federation State Sanitary and Epidemological Oversight Authority
(Gossanepinadzor) - 2.6.1 Ionizing Radiation; Radiation Safety Standards
(NRB-96) issued in 1996. They implement (mostly) the recommendations of
ICRP-60. NRB-96 replaces the earlier Soviet-era NRB-76/87 which are based on
ICRP 26/30 recommendations and models. While most of NRB-96 came into wffect
when it was issued, the lowered dose limits come into full effect on January 1,
2000.

In Ukraine, similar regulations have been issued by the Ministry of Public
Health of Ukraine as NRBU-97.

I can answer specific questions as necessary by private post.
