RE: HP Exam and Common Sense

I agree with Mr. Falo's comments concerning the difficulty of Part I. Part I
was the most difficult to prepare for. I found Part II to be challenging,
yet, fair. While I agree that changes to Part II could be made to speed up
the grading process, I don't believe the examination is unreasonably broad or
presents problems that are too far outside reality. Overall, I feel the
examinations have been and continue to be reasonable measures of a certain
level of health physics expertise.

As for the comment concerning common sense, there is a good portion of common
sense that must be applied in the practice of health physics every day.
Application of common sense in taking the examinations will buy the examinee a
point here or there, but is not enough to allow one to pass the examinations
without a strong knowledge and understanding of the science.

Bottom line......don't take the ABHP examinations lighly.
