Re: laser pointers/ Eye exams

Concerning laser pointers,  currently Rockwell Laser Industries and
specifically Jim Rockwell, is collecting information concerning all forms of
laser pointer regulations.  Many cities and counties and several states have
regulations in place or  up for discussion.  RLI has added a section to its
homepage specifically pertaining to laser pointers and related issues.  For
more information concerning laser pointers, RLI and several others will be
presenting papers at the International Laser Safety Conference during a
session titled "Accidents and Incidents"  Tues. March 9, 1999, from 10:00am to
12:20 pm.  The conference is being held in Orlando, FL March 8-11.  For more
information contact the LIA (Laser Institute of America).

Also related to the recent thread about eye examinations- the plenary session
at the conference is titled "Laser Safety Focus on the Eye" and the keynote
address is "Do Eye Examinations Have a Role in Laser Safety Programs?".
Sounds interesting.
