DOE vs. DOT contamination limits -Reply

The prudent thing to do is maintain surface contamination levels below your
criterion, not the DOTs.  Then, everyone is in street clothes.  Result - no
mixed signals and less chance to spark adverse controversy. 

Consider how much time [and expense] it would take to address a public or
Congressional committee.
