Job Opening: Medical Health Physicist

Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, has an opening for a full time health physicist.
Minimum requirements are an M.S. in Health Physics, or Medical Physics with
health physics experience.  A working knowledge of word processing and
spreadsheet analysis is required.  The successful applicant will be a
self-starter with the ability to work independently, is accountable,
continuously learning, and will possess effective written and oral
communication skills.  Duties include participation in a wide variety of
tasks to learn the full spectrum of medical health physics activities.
Specific responsibilities will include administrative oversight for
individual programs as delegated by the Radiation Safety Officer, and
development and implementation of radiation safety programs as needed or
required by institutional committees or regulatory agencies.  Salary and
benefits are competitive.

Rochester, with an area population of nearly 113,000, is located in
southeast Minnesota, 90 miles southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul, 20 minutes
from trout streams, and 1 hour from the Mississippi River.  Mayo Clinic,

people including 3000 radiation workers.  The Radiation Safety program
encompasses Nuclear Medicine (including PET and radiopharmaceutical
therapy), Radiation Oncology (including a gamma knife, and high- and
low-dose rate brachytherapy), and Radiology (over 250 tubes) programs in
addition to an active biomedical research program.
