mixed waste
The EPA has published an "Advance notice of proposed rulemaking" titled,
"Approach to Reinventing Regulations on Storing Mixed Low-Level Radioactive
Waste," in the Federal Register of March 1, 1999 (Vol 64, No. 39, pages
10064
- 10073). The EPA is proposing a "conditional exemption" from RCRA
regulations for mixed waste that is stored in accordance with NRC
requirements. Comments are due April 15, 1999. (Don't attach your W-2 to
the
wrong document!) Those presently storing mixed waste under a RCRA permit
and
anyone else who may be generating mixed waste should review this proposed
rulemaking and comment.
