Radiological vs. Radiation

About every two years I take issue with the fact that our university office
has been historically known as "Radiological Safety", and our RSO as the
"radiological safety officer". I much prefer Radiation Safety as easier
to say, easier to spell, and more descriptive than radiological (which in
my mind is more associated with radiology). We do not have a hospital.
Primarily we are research users of radioactive material.

Radsafers are never shy about expressing wit and wisdom. Please assist the
boy.

Pondered the boy, College Station.
Then through Radsafe made plea to the nation(s).
     With regard to his school
     Queried, what is the rule
Be it radiological, or best, radiation?
