Re: Risk from a dental X-ray

Radsafers:

I'm trying to explain to a 22 year old girl in everyday simple terms the
Radiological signifcance of a dental x-ray. Dental staff usually tell their
patients when asked that having an x-ray like being exposed to a day in the
sun at the beach, like watching TV, etc. I personally am of the opinion that
when compared to common every day hazards there isn't any radiological
significance to having a dental x-ray and a day in the sun is significantly
more hazardous to one's health. Can anyone steer me to specific information
that can help me put this issue into perspective. Remember, I'm talking to a
non technical person who is concerned about the how an x-ray affects her.
Thanks
