Title Protection - Draft ANSI/ASSE Z590 Standard (2/99)

     Fellow Radsafers:

There has been a thread running during the past few weeks on the
     Safety list, SAFETY@LIST.UVM.EDU, regarding a Draft ANSI/ASSE Z590
Standard (2/99), Criteria for Establishing Levels of Competence and
Certification in the Safety Profession. Information about the standard
and how to obtain a copy of the standard is available at

        http://www.asse.org/bstan2.htm

Further information about the standard is available at

        http://www.safetyinfo.com/z590.htm

I encourage all who have not yet reviewed the standard to obtain a
copy for review and comment. According to www.safetyinfo.com, the
comment period will end on April 14, 1999.

It is important that we review the Draft ANSI Z590 Standard (2/99) to
insure that we in the health physics profession have input in the
standard and are appropriately represented as a profession in the
     standard.
