Fog Delays WIPP Shipment - (LOS ALAMOS) - The first shipment of radioactive
waste to the Waste Isolation
Pilot Plant has been delayed by fog. The truck carrying the waste was
delayed past its scheduled departure time this
morning. Fewer than 50 protesters, some from out of state, gathered in Santa
Fe at the intersection of the relief route
and Airport Road. Under the watchful eye of about a dozen state police
officers... the protesters held anti-WIPP
signs. Banners behind them were plastered with anti-WIPP petitions signed by
Northern New Mexico residents.
